Welcome to Barra Images Community

Hi everyone, welcome to Barra Images. My name is James Barraclough, a Sydney-based photographer. I've been itching to start my own blog for a while now but have been a little apprehensive. The usual self doubt that comes with putting yourself, your thoughts and creative works out into the world for all to see and judge. That and feeling like you never have the time or headspace to bring to fruition what you want to do and say. Anyway, like anything in life, unless you dive in, make mistakes and keep going, it will never happen! So here I am.

So what is this blog all about?

Great question. To be honest it is a blank canvas, an open book. Obviously being a photography site, photography will play a part, but I also have lots of things rattling around in my head that I want to discuss and share. I want to connect with my community, listen to what others have to say and share great things to do! Being Sydney based, a large amount of the content will be Sydney centric. This being said I definitely like to travel and will share my travels here as well.

My musings will be accompanied by photographic imagery from my week for you to enjoy! All straight to your inbox.

How often will I post?

My aim is to be adding to the blog at least once per week. This might be a short post of my week with the images I took. It might be an interview or conversation with someone I'm interested in hearing from. Either way I promise I will do my best to make it entertaining and engaging!

Community - Its a two-way street

Community and connection only happen when there is dialogue flowing both ways. I would love you to engage with me and share your thoughts, bring things to my attention that are worth getting out into the world and having some good banter.

Join me on this journey.
